Prabhath Enterprises is a well-known name in the industry when it comes to designing and building state-of-the-art auditoriums. As a subsidiary of 50-year-old establishment “Prabhath Sound System,” the enterprise has been setting the stage for winning cultural performances for over two decades. Its innovative multi-purpose auditorium, KEA Prabhath Rangamandira, located at the heart of West Bangalore, stands as a clear testament to the team’s skill and expertise. The facility is housed in the KEA complex and boasts a 300-seat auditorium, a rehearsal and dining hall as well as luxury accommodations.

In efforts to expand its presence, Prabhath Enterprises embarked on a new project: taking over an existing auditorium and completely refurbishing it with a state-of-the-art sound system. To that end, the client turned to Electro-Voice (EV) and its parent company Bosch. Having worked with the Bosch team on previous sound installations and witnessed first-hand the superior sound quality of EV products – particularly EVF series front-loaded loudspeakers – Prabhath Enterprises knew that EVF was the ideal choice to reach their goal of complete sonic coverage and clarity in the new auditorium.

Prior to the new EV installation, the venue’s low ceilings posed a problem for the sound system, resulting in reduced output coverage from each loudspeaker and meaning more boxes were necessary to achieve close-to-uniform coverage. To address this challenge, horizontally aligned, vertically arrayed pairs of 12” EVF models pairs now serve as mains, flown at stage left and right, with two EVF-2151D dual 15” subwoofers to support low frequencies. ELX series powered stage monitors, Q series amplifiers, DC-One processing and N/D series microphones complete the set up.

The Bosch team also worked closely with M/S Maastek, the sound system installer, on an EASE (Enhanced Acoustic Simulator for Engineers) model to determine the exact placement for the two main EVF speaker arrays. The precise positioning of each arrayed pair on either side of the room has resolved the issue of inadequate sound coverage, resulting in more even coverage and increased intelligibility.

Overall, EV’s application-specific solutions and close collaboration with the sound installer enabled Prabhath Enterprises to overcome any logistical constraints and deliver superior all-around sound quality. Now, with the new system in place, the auditorium is set to be the go-to venue for live entertainment in the region.
